A collection of hakiim’s poems ranging from age 17 to 23 years old. This was a collection of random poems recorded on sticky notes and random journals that defined his hardships growing up queer and discovering himself, and love, and learning about life through a heavily emotional and analytical lens. He was only in death when he realized life was more than just black and white. He was only in death when he learned how to embrace all of his humanly flaws
hakiim is a black boy who was born in Marietta, Georgia but grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He has been writing and studying music and art since he was only a toddler but began to see the beauty and the art of “painting with words” as he calls it, when he turned 17. Now he writes full time for various music artists while writing poetry in his freetime.
